The new roomy master bedroom enjoys the ambiance of a corner gas fireplace with remote control.   Extending the previous footprint out 6 feet allowed the creation of a new master bath as well.

You can see the source of the light, airy and open feeling this room possesses - ample windows with a generous sliding door to reveal the garden outside.

Here's a better look at that gas parlor stove.   Artfully set in the corner with custom oak mantle and granite tile hearth; it makes this room a holiday, all winter long.

A master bedroom is never complete without enough closet space.  Opting for a closet 'wall' instead of a walk-in closet produced this solution which hides the office nook within the center section.  The office nook is equipped with bifold doors, while the others utilize bypass doors.  Note the attention to trim detail with the crown moulding.

Now you can see what we did with the extra 6 feet to create the new master bathroom.  Long but light and roomy with the bravado of wrapping the shower right through the window, this bathroom has 'resort appeal'.  The custom cultured granite, walk-in shower is the show stopper with floor to ceiling frameless glass shower enclosure.  Add to that the extra linen closet with open shelves above for decorative towels or knick-knacks, dimmable lights in and out of the shower, but above all - this bathroom is easy to clean!

The vanity top is the same cultured granite (which was a custom mixed color made especially for this client) with generous undermount sinks and ample space for two during the morning routine.   The mirrors were made to match the vanity.

A few last shower details here - inset shampoo cubby with shelf, adjustable shower head, and retractable shaving mirror.

The accent tile is quite unique - shaped and polished stone.  With the gapless spacing, it was possible to install with virtually no grout (consequently, no grout to clean! )

The great natural light in this room made the photography a little challenging, but reflection aside, here is a closer view of the shower and glass encosure.   One of the highest priorities for this bathroom, as you might have guessed by now, was to be easily cleaned.  A wise consideration when faced with the multitude of choices in the marketplace.   The cultured granite cleans up with mild detergent and water while the glass enclosure panel has a special 'spot free' coating to keep it looking just as great as when it was first installed.
