The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem kitchen...(and we know
there are more of you out there!) In this before picture, you can see
why our clients wanted a more subdued color scheme. Add to that some updated cabinets,
surfaces, appliances and a few changes for traffic flow and we have a whole new ball game.

Here is almost the same view only 'after'. The clients selected these custom oak cabinets,
slightly overstained to bring out the woodgrain, conveniently matching the hardwood floors
in the rest of the house. You can also see the new granite tops and appliances.

This picture was taken from the dining room looking back into the kitchen
and shows the new ceramic tile floor. The doorway leads to a
small laundry room, half-bath and back door.

|
From the living room, a new arched opening was made to open up the feel
of the dining room and access to the kitchen. The short 'L' that
used to be at the end of the original kitchen cabinets has also been removed
to help the flow. Note the new front door and vinyl windows.

Just as a reference, this is a 'before' of nearly the same view
from the living room when it
was a solid wall. The conventional door opening just out of the
picture to the left, made traffic flow difficult and gave the home
a 'closed-in' feeling.

One last shot, the kitchen sink, shows the custom granite counter top,
undermounted stainless steel sink and top mounted faucet. The
cabinet panel in front is a very slender tip-out drawer, perfect for
sponges, etc. This picture really doesn't do justice to the beauty
of this particular granite. Most granites have such complexity
and interest, they are best seen with the naked eye. We carry
a variety of granite samples in our Project Planning Center.
