Homes of this era can often have small rooms, irregular spaces and varying ceiling heights sometimes resulting in hard to use spaces or complicated traffic flow.

Added to this house was a new master bath including this tile shower complete with glass block window and amazing shower system!   The aim was to keep the period 'feel' of the home with this selection of fixtures and tile.

The comode received its own private area complemented with traditional wainscot and another glass block window.

 

You wouldn't know it, but this used to be the master bath!   It has now been remodeled to be the walk-through closet and entrance hall to the new master bath!

Speaking of entrances, the entry foyer was also given a lift by raising the ceiling and removing some unnecessary walls resulting in a very nice greeting area.

This looks back on the front door and the new side and transom windows.   And yes, that is the original doorbell and it still works!

We gave the living room and adjoining music room an uplift with new hickory, prefinished flooring throughout.  The original parlor doors were also brought back to working order.

Clever use of shelving allows book storage that is out of the way, but still reachable...

This is the colorful new shower installed upstairs for guests and other family members.

Outdoors, a new cabana enhances the pool area along with a thriving landscape of sun tolerant lavendars, grasses, and other natives.
